Feeling Thankful

Psalm 100

God made us,
and we are His people.
So we should sing
songs of happiness!
Let's celebrate God's goodness,
His love that will last forever!
(from Psalms for Young Children by Marie-Helene Delval)

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness
come before Him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is He who made us, and we are His
we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the Lord is good and His love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations.
(New International Version)

A Brighter World

At our church the Sunday after Easter we observe Bright Sunday.  It's a contrast to the season of darkness and deprivation that has passed and a celebration of the joy and light that has come.

People are so small
next to you, God.
You put the stars and the moon
in the sky, and the birds in the air
above the cows and the horses in the fields,
and the fish that swim in the seas.
You created all the beauty
in the world!

Psalm 8 (from Psalms for Young Children)
